"A starship crashed into the cloud of comets, blazing and sputtering as it broke apart.
.from the ashes a strange bird of fire, in every color, flew away and filled the darkness"
- Mirror of the Dream

When Entropy's lead guitarist Eric Mendez left the band in January of 2001, the group continued to perform as a trio. For eight months Entropy focused on a more hard rock sound producing some of the band's most concise material. This disc is just a small portion of the music recorded during that time.
When the band's bass player Eric Mitchell unexpectedly left for Oregon in August many studio versions of these songs were left half recorded. Rather than attempt to finish the songs in the studio. It was decided to put together a CD of the recordings we had already completed.
The originals for tracks 1,2,3, & 8 were lost when they were entrusted to a computer hard drive (which soon after committed suicide). The current tracks are reconstituted from mp3's off of the website. Thus the sound quality of these already digital live recordings was even further degraded into bit chomped renditions of the original vibrations. This will be remedied as soon as one of the cd's with the original Wav's floating about the world is returned to me. Tracks 4,5, and 7 are improvisations presented directly from the master two track mixes.

These are remnants from the ashes,
from shipwrecked love and broken dreams,
shattered organizations of magic,
burned, resurrected, and burned once again,
some truth to be found, some lies to endure,
stories of water burning baptismal
