distant dark hills, in broad daylight
whispered clouds swirl in front of
& above me
Yellow sand spotted green with trees
leathery leafed though-barked shade barons
Joshua tree and deep purple cactus
mixed with the endless
nameless shrub, and one path with roses
Sacred sunlight curving path
around the edge of the house
changing the shadows
of the short grass
While pulling me out of the shade
